Dinovember is going to be here in just a few days! It’s a whole month dedicated to parents trying to convince their children that their dinosaurs come alive at night. It’s the time of year when dino toys take center stage and cause all kinds of ruckus. We think there are some toy dinos out there who would love to be spruced up for such an occasion. Take this guy for example …
Grab some paint and prepare to give your cast of Dinovember a makeover. We used Acrylic paint so it would dry properly and stay on, but you can research which type of paint is best for the material your dinosaurs are made out of, and whether or not you have a young one at home who might be chewing on it later! You will probably have to mix a couple colours together to get your desired shade.
Apply the paint to your dinosaur. A nice thin layer will insure that the paint dries almost even with the rest of the body so you don’t end up with a thick touch-up that stands out.
Since it will be pretty hard to match the colour of your dinosaur exactly, take a little piece of sponge and dab some extra colour along the top, blending a little down the sides. This will make it look like it has always looked that way, and richen its appearance.
Sometimes you end up with a toy dinosaur that just doesn’t have enough definition to give it personality. This next dino, for example, has a head that just blends in with the rest of the body. We wanted to give him some teeth, eyes, and a tongue.
Not wanting to be left out, this big gorgeous beauty demanded to have her nails done. It does make her stand a little more proud!
If you have your own Dinosaur Makeover Tips, we’d love to hear them! We are especially looking forward to any feathery plumage additions that anyone makes to their home based dinos!
We think it is going to be a very exciting month. We hope that many of you choose to participate in #Dinovember and bring a little magic into the lives of loved ones in your home…and to us online as we hope you will share your creativity and the adventures your mischievous dinosaurs get up to.
